Mango Tim and his dunk-a-roos

Hey All,

We got a bit off track with the blog. Too busy getting crunk on the beach and relaxing in general.

We learned how to sail these little Hobie Cat sail boats. Going out on the water is very peaceful and you can see to the ocean floor almost everywhere because the water is so clear. After spending the day drinking by the pool we went to pub at night and met some friends, Ollie and Rachael from Manchester England. We ended up closing down the bar.

Yesterday we went on a Rum Tour, which was to be honest a bit disappointing. We thought we would learn how to make rum and get to sample the wares. We mostly just learned some more about plants and drove through this small fishing town. Then they layed out a bunch of bottles of room temperature rum and set out some plastic shot glasses and said to try what ever we wanted. No chaser just rum. They eventually gave us some fruit juice to make things a bit easier. Then the bus took us to a little place called Merigot Bay, which had some very cool views and some cold beverages.

Today we visited the city of Soufriere, which means sulfur, because its very near to an active volcano. The volcano is the world's only drive in volcano. It kinda stinks like rotten eggs which is where the city got its name. The river running through the area is a charcoal gray, which is very bizarre to look at. We visited the botanical gardens which was home to the very cool Diamond Waterfall. After some lunch we got back on our boat and went for a quick snorkel. We saw some creepy squid that were following us around and looking at us, and a very huge trumpet fish. The cruise then turned into quite the party, with chugging contests and dancing. Tiff stepped it up and represented by winning the girls contest, besting the other girls by a large margin (yes I do have this on video).

Tonight is our last night and we are getting ready for our last romantic honeymoon dinner. Tiff is going to try to get a dance party started, but I'm guessing it will just be another night of us closing down the bar with some new friends. See you all soon.

St Lucia Death Tour!!!

"Im frigging nuts man"

So yesterday we went ziplineing through the rain forest. The tour began when we met our tour guide "George of the jungle". George was a crazy fellow who happened to have a preoccupation with death. Whilst on our journey to go swinging from trees, he felt it necessary to discuss all of the many ways to die in St Lucia. Snakes, spiders, hurricanes, and farmers with machetes. Apparently we were on a highway straight to hell. He did point out were we would go to the hospital, which we probably wouldn't survive, because the equipment is "not so good". To our right was the cemetery where everyone who dies gets a good view of the ocean, they apparently are not too big on cremation, however George doesn't really care what happens to him after he dies. We learned quite a bit from George, including how the catch a snake by "talking shit to it" (of which I have video proof).

I digress. Ziplining was freaking awesome. I did manage to catch some sweet videos of us gliding from tree to tree. Unfortunately it will have to wait until we get back because of the connection. Tiff turned out to be quite the expert flying in a straight line every time. I however started spinning around every time like a wild man. It wasn't scary at all, just a lot of fun. The rainforest was really beautiful from that height.

We got home and showered, then went back to the Regency for dinner at their Asian themed restaurant. It was ok, it was a decent teppanyaki style place and somewhat entertaining though the chef's only catch phrase was "niccce... ricccce". Then we came back to the hotel and met some new friends in the English style pub in the lobby. After several rounds of shots we closed that bar down at 2.

This morning we slept til 11 and went to have a couples massage. It was our 6 years of dating anniversary so we kept it pretty mellow by hanging out at the pool. Tonight we are staying at our own resort for once and eating at the Italian restaurant. It is supposed to be delicious so we are excited for that!

Tomorrow should be another chill day doing watersports and hanging out by the pool drinking dirty bananas

La Toc

Last night we wandered on over to one of the other resorts The Regency for a classy meal at a restaurant called La Toc. It was French themed and it was all kinds of fancy. Tiff started her meal with some escargot which I tried and was surprised by. Snails are only sort of nasty apparently. I also was treated to a delicious duck confit followed by a sizable steak that was cooked to perfection.

We then spent some time exploring the resort. It started to rain pretty hard which was cool because a bunch of the wildlife started to come out. We saw all kinds of lizards and frogs all over the resort. I think the Regency was nicer than the hotel that we are stayting at but ours definatly has more of a party vibe. The Regency is also home to several kittens which run about the resort doing whatever the hell they want. We found one sleeping in the lobby. My guess it that it helps control the rodent problem.

Sorry Scuba Tiff

This morning we had our scuba class at 8:30. We went to bed kinda late so it was a bit rough to start. Tiff was not feeling very lively, she even slept through some of the very informative instructional video. She did start to perk up after we hit the water though. All I have to say is that SCUBA is crazy! Once you get down there and get used to the breathing it is very calm and peacful. We got to see all kinds of creatures. My favorite was the moray eel that was just underneath Tiff's leg (which apparently she didn't even see). Hers was the massive sea cucumber. We stayed under for about 30 minutes at a depth of 40 feet. Unfortunately with our instructor barking orders at us we didn't have any time to take pictures. We also didn't want to fork over the dough for an underwater camera. Maybe if we go out again.

Tonight we head over to another resort for a fancy dinner and then tomorrow we go back to the rain forest for some zip-lineing.

Worst Cyclists Ever

Yesterday we decided to be adventurous and sign up to go mountain biking through the rainforest. We didn't realize that the rain forest was so damn hilly. Of the 6 or so couples in our group we were in the worst shape. Tiff's bike kept breaking and I was just a mess. It was pretty damn exhausting. At the end we took a long break and it was mostly downhill. The forest was very cool and our guides stopped periodicly to make us eat something they ripped from a tree. At the very end there was a sweet waterfall and we took a quick dip in the pool underneath it. I posted some pictures on the picasa to check out.

When we got back we mostly just ate lots of a food and napped.

This morning we are headed over to do some SCUBA.

Swim up bar = Awesome

What is up everyone,

We are just getting ready to head out to the other sandals resort on the island to have dinner (which means that Tiffany is blow drying her hair for like an hour). Today we spent most the day in the water. Jet skiing was a lot of fun. We capsized the ski after I decided that jumping a big boat's wake was a good idea. Tiff was scared out of her mind (she was fine). We then spent most of our day relaxing poolside at the swim up bar. We sampled many a beverage. My favorites were the dirty banana and the pigeon island, which in retrospect have gross sounding names, but trust me, they are delicious.

We've gotten a few questions on the pictures.

You can see pictures of the wedding here http://picasaweb.google.com/EricNAJacques/WeddingPhotos#

and pictures of the honeymoon here http://picasaweb.google.com/EricNAJacques/Honeymoon#

The connection speed here isn't lighting fast so we are only uploading the best of the best for pictures.

Tomorrow we are heading over to go mountain biking through the rainforest. Im hoping to take some video.

Quick Update

Hey Guys we are all settled in at the Sandals. This place is sweet! We had a delicious candlelight dinner last night and spent the morning riding kayaks and jet skiing. Now we are headed down to the hotel pool. We'll post some pics when we get a chance!
